Senior Quality Assurance Advisor, Quality & Performance Institute

Job Description
The Quality Assurance Project was initiated in 1990 with the goal of promoting continuous improvement in the quality of primary health care services in developing countries. The current, follow-on Health Care Improvement (HCI) Project funded by USAID is dedicated to improving health, population and nutrition services through technical support to service delivery institutions, Ministries of Health, USAID missions, and cooperating agencies. The project is a global leader in the advocacy, development, and promotion of cost-effective methods to design and improve healthcare services and systems in developing and middle income countries. The Senior Quality Assurance Advisor will be responsible for developing, with an international group, measures to monitor the quality of services in HIV, TB and malaria:

Coordinating development of quality of care indicators for TB, HIV and malaria
- Developing protocols and tools for data collection
- Designing assessment protocols to field test in developing countries the validity, feasibility and reliability of the quality indicators
- Coordinate the activities of working groups to develop indicators and tools
- Coordinate activities of field based teams to test indicators
- Write technical reports
- Assist ministries of health to improve management and quality of care
- Participate in business development activities
Job Requirements
A Masters degree in public health or the social sciences and over 10 years of experience in health care improvement including the development and testing of quality of care measures. The candidate must have excellent analytical, writing and organizational skills. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and have experience with research databases with advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and Power Point. Experience in international health and working ability in a second major development language is preferred. Occasional overseas travel would be required to developing and transitioning countries. Candidates must have a track record of being able to produce results in a timely manner and of being a team player with flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions.
