Regional Technical Advisor

Location: Pretoria, South Africa | Job Type: Full-time | Post Date: 01/10/2017
Job Description: 

The Regional Technical Advisor will be responsible for coordination & facilitation of health programs with staff from stakeholder organizations, including MoH, NGO’s and PEPFAR funded organizations.

Job Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in and present at PEPFAR – funded partner meetings
  • Provide support, training and mentoring to sites in the specific country and other URC staff, as per request, to improve the quality of service delivery
  • Participate in the development of various quality improvement and health care sustainability initiatives at designated health facilities
  • Provide inputs / compilation of quarterly semi-annual and annual reports
  • Design and conduct field-based research / evaluations as required
  • Work with the ASSIST regional M&E team to develop documents for publication, including peer-reviewed journal articles on lessons learnt
  • Liaise with staff from other URC projects
Job Requirements: 
  • Health care related tertiary qualification essential
  • Post graduate qualification an advantage
  • At least 7 – 10  years’ experience post qualification
  • Experience in implementation of HIV and AIDS programs, with special emphasis Medical Male Circumcision (MMC) programs essential
  • Knowledge of Nutrition programs
  • Working knowledge of the dynamics within the Southern African region essential
  • Background in research, evaluation and assessment an advantage
  • Good management skills essential
  • Public Health experience necessary
  • Knowledge about working with PEPFAR – funded programs
  • Computer literacy essential
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license essential
