IME Becas
The Institute for Mexicans Abroad and the Binational Education Initiative, California Policy Research Center, University of California
The IME Becas Project supports efforts developed by Mexico and the U.S. to provide better and higher education for populations of Mexican-origin who are living in the United States.
Under the program, CHS provides small becas (scholarships) to Mexican immigrants to earn General Education Diplomas, learn English as a Second Language, and to access higher education.
URC/CHS Services
- Provide educational services to Mexican citizens living in the United States who are 15 years of age or older
- Administer funds to provide stipends for educational advisors (mentors, facilitators, or promoters) and/or coordinators of adult education programs who serve immigrant students who are Mexican citizens
