TASC2-Integrated South Africa
Client: United States Agency for International Development (USAID) (subcontractor of Management Sciences for Health)
Working with prime contractor Management Sciences for Health (MSH), URC is providing leadership for efforts to improve the quality of primary health care in South Africa under the USAID-funded TASC2 Integrated Technical Assistance Project. TASC2-Integrated supports the Departments of Health in five priority provinces to develop efficient and effective primary health care management systems which fully integrate services for HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, child health, and reproductive health.
Under the project, which is closely linked to URC’s Quality Assurance Project and TASC2 Tuberculosis activities in the country, URC’s South Africa staff works with provincial Departments of Health, municipal governments, and health districts to strengthen the existing network of PHC facilities in the five provinces as well as to assist local communities to become actively engaged in the management of health services delivery.
URC Services
- Develop efficient and effective primary health care management systems and strengthen PHC network of facilities
- Integrate services for HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, child health, and reproductive health
- Strengthen community participation in management of health services delivery
