Screen from Focus, a computer based program that provides a model for forecasting family planning and contraceptive needs

FOCUS, a computer-based program, available in English and Spanish, provides a model for forecasting family planning and contraceptive needs. The program offers family planning practitioners a tool for projecting contraceptive needs in order to develop five-year plans. FOCUS can be used to identify reproductive health trends either in a particular economic sector or nationwide. Generated results enable countries to analyze contraceptive stock levels and demand trends in order for the donor community to plan for and meet consumer needs. The program is distributed with sample reproductive data from Guatemala, however, can be adapted by any country for use in any area of health care.
