South Africa Tuberculosis Program: Television Interview on Pediatric Tuberculosis

Dr. Ntombi Mhlongo-Sigwebela, Director, South Africa Tuberculosis Program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development, and managed by a team led by University Research Co., LLC, appeared on South Africa’s House Call. The interview came after Dr. Mhlongo-Sigwebela addressed attendees at an international conference in the port city of Durban on World TB Day, March 24, 2010. Dr. Mhlongo-Sigwebela spoke about what is being done, and what more is needed, to tackle the problem of pediatric TB. Currently in South Africa, TB in children under four years of age now accounts for about 9% of all national TB cases annually.
