Caring for China’s population of 1.3 billion people is undoubtedly a challenging task, even with the strongest health care system in place. URC’s work in China began in 2007 to help strengthen Country Coordinating Mechanisms by improving their ability to manage country programs and provide oversight of local organizations that received funding. Subsequent to the first project, URC also provided technical assistance to monitor and evaluate programmatic data with the Global Fund’s Data Quality Audit Tool. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria funded both projects.
