The Primary Health Care Operations Research Project (PRICOR), implemented in 1981, is one of our first projects in Pakistan funded by the US Agency for International Development in Pakistan. Through PRICOR, our non-profit affiliate, the Center for Human Services, pioneered the development of a practical, systematic approach to operations research on critical issues facing primary health care services in developing countries. Over the years, URC provided support to other far-reaching initiatives funded by the US Agency for International Development, including the Asia Family Planning Operations Research Project, the Quality Assurance Project (QAP), and the Health Care Improvement Project (HCI). URC currently implements the USAID Applying Science to Strengthen and Improve Systems (ASSIST) Project, working with local partners to pilot a quality improvement intervention to increase injection safety in one province.
