Russia
Since the late 1990s, URC has been providing support to Russia to improve the health of the population, starting with implementation of the Quality Assurance Project (QAP) and followed by the Health Care Improvement Project (HCI). QAP and HCI provided technical assistance and conducted operations research on health care quality improvement in technical areas including maternal and newborn health, HIV/AIDS and cardiovascular disease. We also worked to improve social services for people living with HIV/AIDS.
URC, with our non-profit affiliate, the Center for Human Services, has implemented several other public health initiatives in Russia, including the Women and Infant Health Strategy project in 1999 and, more recently, PreventAIDS, Piloting a Model Family Medicine Clinic for Labor Migrants and support to WHO and UNICEF.
