Suriname
URC began working in Suriname in 2007 implementing Global Fund Consulting Services, sought to strengthen Country Coordinating Mechanisms by improving the country’s ability to manage country programs and provide oversight of local organizations that received funding. The technical assistance focused on coordination, communication, conflict of interest, leadership, developing partnerships, data quality management, monitoring and evaluation, oversight, and overall management. URC went on to roll out TASC 4 Africa, a project aimed improving the health of all people – especially women, children and other vulnerable populations – by expanding basic health services (including family planning), strengthening national health systems and addressing global issues and special concerns, such as HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
