Benin Muskoka
Overview
URC is helping to improve 1) the quality of reproductive health services at health facilities, 2) community-based family planning promotion, and 3) distribution and gender activities targeting family planning in Benin's Couffo and Borgou health zones.
Achievements
- Improved the provision of family planning counseling to Borgou health facility clients of reproductive age from 12% in May 2012 to 21% in November 2012;
- Improved the provision of family planning counseling to Couffo health facility clients of reproductive age from 31% in May 2012 to 48% in November 2012;
- Ensured that 85% of community leaders were trained on gender, family planning, and communication and applied their learning in the two months after the training; and
- Provided material incentives to the top five health facilities in each intervention zone.
