Cambodia Health Systems Strengthening (HSS)
Overview
URC provided support to Cambodia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) to plan, manage, and introduce programs addressing HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and family health. HSS helped to apply a comprehensive systems approach to strengthen the capacity of the Cambodian health system to better plan, finance, and deliver the basic package of reproductive and child health services.
Achievements
- Pre-identified poor households, to determine eligibility for Health Equity Funds. Administration of these funds was associated with a reduction by half of the numbers of households in debt for health care in 2007
- Developed hospital and health care quality assessment instruments now used nationwide
