Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement and Supply Management Project (GHSC-PSM)
Overview
URC is part of the consortium of organizations implementing the Global Health Supply Chain (GHSC) – Procurement and Supply Management (PSM) project, managed by Chemonics. The purpose of GHSC-PSM is to ensure uninterrupted supplies of health commodities in support of USG-funded public health initiatives around the world. The project provides direct procurement and supply chain management support to the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), and Population and Reproductive Health. In supporting USG-funded global health activities, PSM develops and manages a wide array of services for health commodity procurement and related systems strengthening technical assistance encompassing different elements of a comprehensive supply chain.
Objectives
The GHSC-PSM project aims to improve the availability of health commodities and systems strengthening technical assistance under three (3) objectives:
- Global Commodity Procurement and Logistics – improve provision of essential health commodities
- Systems Strengthening Technical Assistance – strengthen in-country supply chain systems
- Global Collaboration – strategic engagement to improve long-term global supply of health commodities
