Multi-Sector Alliance Program (Alianzas I)
Overview
Alianzas I brought together public and private organizations to leverage USAID work to address Guatemala’s reproductive health, family planning, and nutrition needs. The Alianzas II Project is building on this work.
Achievements
- Attracted over $18 million from private sector organizations; estimates indicated that more than half the nation’s population benefited from the program
- Helped to develop a program that delivered maternal and child health care services to 26,000 mothers and 22,000 children
- Supported training for more than 5000 health providers to provide reproductive health and family messages and guidance
