Resilience and Economic Growth in Sahel – Enhanced Resilience (REGIS-ER)
Overview
URC is managing the health, nutrition, and WASH component of this project to increase the resilience of chronically vulnerable people, households, communities, and systems in targeted agricultural areas in Niger and Burkina Faso. Resilience will be achieved through increased and sustainable well-being, strengthened institutions and governance, and improved health, nutrition, and WASH.
Key Activities
- Engaging communities in activities to raise awareness of the importance of good health, nutrition, safe drinking water, and improved sanitation;
- Increasing adoption of positive behaviors, such as eating nutritious foods, using clean drinking water, washing hands with soap, and seeking quality health care services;
- Integrating cross-cutting issues, such as gender, to improve women’s and youth’s health and nutrition and thereby enhance their social and economic potential; and
- Working very closely with governments, local partners, and community workers to facilitate knowledge sharing, strengthen service delivery, and ensure sustainability.
