The Impact of QI approach to PMTCT Outcomes in Benin

File Type: PDF | File Size: 2.58 MB

In order to develop a comprehensive package of care for maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) that included the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services, the Benin Integrated Family Health Project (Projet Intégré de Santé Familiale, PISAF) uses quality improvement (QI) methods to change systems of service delivery and implement high-impact, proven interventions that improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and safety of service delivery processes. This three-page project report describes how, through QI methodology, all affected health facilities were able to rapidly integrate PMTCT services into routine MNCH services.
