This technical brief describes the URC's communication strategies and mass communication and community mobilization to increase TB awareness. Messages were focused on the increasing awareness on infection control, treatment adherence, and HIV/TB testing and screening. Community Mobilization efforts included building partnerships with local NGOs/CBOs, public stakeholders, and local businesses; door to door campaigns with health facilities and NGOs to share information with friends, families, and schools. Key achievements include: increased awareness in the population, developed and disseminated television and radio commercials, and trained Directorates in the Eastern Cape and Free State provinces.
