Sixty years of service and commitment to improving the lives of people around the world began with a simple but practical idea: to provide training and research services for U.S. government professionals and build the expertise needed to solve problems in communities across the country.
Together, we worked hard to grow that idea into something far greater. Through the work of URC and our partners, we continue to bring evidence-based solutions and hope to people in more than one hundred countries.
We continue to be guided by the spirit of our founders from Howard University, whose early work in justice, education, and health laid the foundation for URC’s first international program in Malaysia a decade later. Today our work, together with IBI, a URC Company, spans some of the world’s most fragile settings – from Mali and Ghana to Haiti and BARMM, Philippines – where we strengthen health systems, create economic opportunity, ignite sustainable change and deliver life-changing, lasting impact.
Behind every program are the people we serve and the colleagues who make this work possible. As we celebrate URC’s 60th anniversary, I want to personally thank everyone who has contributed to our success, especially the people who, since 1965, have delivered program impact, helped shape an industry, and changed countless lives, including mine, for the better.
Together, we honor the past and carry forward the same spirit of purpose that has defined URC from the start.
