Karchorwa Hospital nursing officer Sister Muzaki Annamary treats pre-term infants on the neonatal intensive care unit. Sister Annamary invented the “octopus” delivery system to address the shortage of bottles to feed as many infants as possible with limited resources. URC supports programs that mentor health workers to deliver life-saving innovations for pre-term babies.

URC’s work with the Customs Authority in Timor-Leste helped reduce  export processing times at Tibar Bay Port by 45% and import processing times by 21%.

Somos Ciudad, URC’s Safe Cities Project in Guatemala, helped reduce crime and violence in Guatemala by improving coordination among local government, civil society, and community groups. The project operated in high-risk urban areas where crime and violence undermine governance and economic growth. Project kick-off activities included large murals painted by local artists.

URC staff support community education and outreach programs on hygiene practices, working with nearly 200 families in the Moroto District through education events and home visits. This demonstration is on the importance of digging and maintaining clean water wells.

More than 60 small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) benefitted through the Laos Business Ecosystem Partnership Fund. Working with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Department of SME Promotion,  digital skills training were provided to SMEs. Additional training programs were developed for chambers of commerce on policy advocacy. Business enabling fairs helped create an environment to enhance business development.
